Redux

So, since the Daily Prompt decided to, as Gordon Ramsey would say on Hell’s Kitchen, SHUT IT DOWN!, I’ve had to search elsewhere for prompts. I have a feeling that quite a few people are going to be starting their own version of the dp, so I’m pretty sure there will be no shortage of prompts.

Every time I see the word Redux I always think of Rabbit, Redux by John Updike. He’s one of my favorite writers. He’s right up there with John Cheever, Don DeLillo, and Philip Roth. Oh yeah, and Raymond Chandler.

I guess I’ll be scrounging around WordPress to find prompts. Not that I really need to. I could just point to a page in the dictionary. Actually, that’s not a bad idea. That would be extremely random and challenging. Especially if no matter what I stayed with the first word. No mulligans. But, that would be a one person game. And quite frankly, I don’t have the energy, or followers, to try to muster any interest. I’ll just go with whatever.

I don’t have anything specific to say about redux. It’s such a harsh sounding, unpretty word. It gives renewal a bad name.
